THE ONLY KRAV MAGA WORLDWIDE TRAINING FACILITY IN SOUTH CAROLINA & THE ONLY FIT TO FIGHT TRAINING FACILITY IN THE LOW COUNTRY

ABOUT KRAV MAGA
Krav Maga is the official self-defense and fighting system of the Israeli defense forces and is favored by US law enforcement agencies. This wholly unique and original method was developed and refined during years of conflict by Imi Lichtenfeld in the late 1930s. He built up a strong group of followers, including special unit leaders, professionals in the armed forces, and police officers. Using his knowledge of street fighting and legitimate competition tactics, Lichtenfeld was able to develop the revolutionary self defense system of Krav Maga. As he increased the range of Krav Maga, the number of students grew.  To keep up with this massive following, Lichtenfeld adapted Krav Maga to better fit the lives of all individuals.  Throughout the 1960s, he made it easy for all citizens, including women and children, to learn the techniques of Krav Maga so that they might better protect themselves.

Although Krav Maga shares many techniques with other martial arts, such as karate, boxing, savate, muay thai, Jiu Jitsu, judo, kobudo and wrestling, the training is often quite different. It stresses fighting under worst-case conditions or from disadvantaged positions (for example, against several opponents, when protecting someone else, with one arm unusable, when dizzy, or against armed opponents). Unlike Karate there are no predefined sequences of moves or choreographed styles; instead Krav Maga emphasizes rapid learning and the retzev (continuous combat motion), with the sole imperative being effectiveness for either attack or defensive situations.

Krav Maga Worldwide was born when one of Imi Licthenfeld’s students, Darren Levine, decided to open a Krav Maga focused-center in Los Angeles. Since then, Krav Maga Worldwide has developed programs to fit individuals of all backgrounds. Using Imi Lichtenfeld’s original goals, Krav Maga Worldwide provides an accessible and approachable environment where Los Angeles citizens can learn self defense skills and increase their level of physical fitness.

The timeline of Krav Maga does not stop here.  With the amazing results Krav Maga provides, it’s no surprise that this self defense program is rapidly spreading throughout the United States, and changing the lives of hundreds of individuals.

We are honored to carry on true Krav Maga training at our facility since 2004, developed and mastered by Imi Lichtenfeld and passed along by Darren Levine to our founder, and one of the elite Krav Maga Black Belt instructors in the Nation, Matt Robinson.
